The #1 Best Health and Beauty Plan

By John Russell

There is new research in the anti aging arena that says if you really want to fight against the natural aging process you should consider the science of anti aging nutrition and make a personal health and beauty plan. Anti aging nutrition is really becoming very popular in today's world. You can find many plans and as many products as you want that are based on the anti aging nutrition formula.

A good nutritional plan is many times the last thing people consider when starting the fight against aging. Often they look to anti aging creams and other more complex treatments like botox. All the while not understanding the importance of what they are eating and how they are eating it.

A well-rounded nutritional formula consists of three things that should be no surprise to anyone. They are exercise, healthy diet, and a set of vitamin and mineral supplements to personalize your health and beauty plan.

A Good Diet is Required. You are what you eat. Well it's true if you eat things that are bad for you and have high calories and sugars you will feel poorly and gain weight. The more weight you gain the worse you feel, the less you will exercise, and so on. This can quickly spiral out of control until you're just looking and feeling older than you are. So start your personal health and beauty plan by taking care of your diet.

Exercise to Stay in Shape. One of the most important steps in an anti aging nutritional formula is exercise. Exercise helps in promoting strength, agility and stamina, all things that make us feel great; as they say, you're only as old as you feel.

To help with your quest for fitness you should consider joining a fitness club in your area. They will have a large selection of equipment and classes to get you in sync with your personal health and beauty plan. Of course, if you can't afford a fitness club, you could always find some second hand exercise equipment and set up your own gym. And if that doesn't work just get out and walk every day, it will be time well spent.

Use a good Supplement Program. As part of a good anti aging nutrition plan you should also consider a good regimen of vitamin supplements. There are many great multi-vitamins on the market for people of any age. Tests can be run to see if there are any specific shortages in your system. This will help you decide on what supplements you should be taking to keep up your health.

An Anti aging nutritional plan can help you look and feel younger then you really are. But you need to follow your program with discipline or, otherwise, it will be a waste of time and you will grow old faster then you want.

Face and Body Masks

By Dhananjay Singh

How face and masks make you look better?

Face and body masks are very simple mixtures of chemicals and natural materials. They can be made at home using easily available materials that are safe and quite effective. The ingredients are usually mixed together to make a paste, which is applied in two layers onto the entire face, plus neck and throat region, excluding the eye and mouth area.

This type of product is commonly known as a beauty pack or face pack. It is called a mask because it is applied on entire face, neck area and often the throat region.

A face and body mask treatment is an important component of beauty regime. They provide instant visible results and make the skin smooth, soft and radiant. In addition, they can be very relaxing and de-stressing. Masks usually work on the outer, dead skin layer of your skin and result in mild exfoliation of this layer.

Most of face masks or packs are left on for 15 to 20 minutes on the skin surface. But some peel-off masks that may be fortified with medication or nutrients may have to be left on for longer. It allows enough time for these active ingredients to penetrate into the skin and work.

The beneficial properties of masks are:

· Deep cleansing · Stimulating · Toning · Astringent · Moisturizing · Nourishing · Anti-bacterial

We proudly offer all natural and user-friendly beauty care products for your face and body masks and other skin care needs. Our complete line of skin care products is made using only natural skin care ingredients, to ensure quality in all of our skin care products. http://www.personahealth.com

About Cosmetic Surgery Abroad

By Paul Easton

Perhaps you're unhappy with your appearance, feeling as though your years have given you a few too many wrinkles.

Perhaps you'd like to have cosmetic surgery on your eyelids, or a "tummy tuck," or breast augmentation.

Perhaps you've longed to lose your glasses forever and have lasix vision correction. With today's marvels in medical technology, no one need suffer from low self-esteem due to issues of personal appearance.

An increasing number of Americans are choosing to have their cosmetic surgery abroad for a number of very astute reasons:

Since insurance companies don't cover elective cosmetic procedures, bearing the cost yourself is often prohibitive.

Cosmetic surgery abroad is much less expensive because of the high cost of living in America; this means higher wages for medical professionals.

In foreign top-quality medical facilities where the cost of living is lower and you won't pay taxes for services, cosmetic surgery abroad is very affordable.

A lower cost for your cosmetic surgery abroad does not mean you'll receive a lower standard of medical care.

The state-of-the-art facility you select should be fully accredited by the country's health care inspectors, and surgeons should be board certified F.R.C.S. (Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons), the highest credentials attainable in cosmetic procedures for those trained in the UK, Australia or New Zealand.

When you have cosmetic surgery abroad at a superlative medical facility, you need not fear traveling alone to a foreign country with a different culture and language.

A distinctive facility will assign you a Patient Coordinator who will assist you - in your own language - in accomplishing every detail of your travel itinerary, pre- and post-op hotel accommodations, the transference of your medical records, consultations with your surgeon, and will be in touch with you constantly throughout your "beauty holiday."

Unlike the majority of American facilities, having cosmetic surgery abroad means that you can have more than one procedure done during your stay.

For example, you can return home with both a face lift and a tummy tuck!

When you have cosmetic surgery abroad at a distinguished facility, your care doesn't end when you're discharged from the hospital.

Instead of the hassle of making follow-up appointments as you would in the US, fully-qualified registered nurses will see you each day in your private hotel room to check your surgical sites, change dressings, and provide other follow-up care.

Cosmetic surgery abroad is a much different experience than what you'd expect in your home town!

As with any surgical procedure, having cosmetic surgery abroad could have unforeseen complications.

If this does occur, you will receive the finest corrective care without ever feeling helpless and alone in a country not your own.

Exclusive foreign medical facilities go the extra mile to prevent complications and quickly treat any that do arise unexpectedly.

In all aspects of your care, your choice to have cosmetic surgery abroad is safe and uncomplicated with personalized care that will enhance your appearance for years to come.

Do You Know The Best Scar Treatment?

By John Russell

Did you know the best scar treatment of all is prevention?

A scar is a natural part of the healing process. Skin scars occur when the deep thick layer of skin is damaged. The worse the damage is, the worse the scar will be.

Effective acne skin care is the key to avoiding acne scars for life. Most acne skin scars are flat, pale, and leave a trace of the original zit that caused them. The redness and swelling that often follow a zit may not be a scar and is generally not permanent. The time it takes for the zit to go away may, however, range from a few days to several weeks.

Four Rules for Good Acne Skin Care

Rule #1: Never, ever, ever squeeze, press, or handle an active zit.

The act of squeezing, ripping, or scratching often causes a scar, and perhaps for life, because it further damages the already affected dermis. To understand scar treatment is to know that the body cannot rebuild the tissue exactly as it was prior to the formation of a blemish and manipulating the tender skin in any way significantly increases the risk of scarring.

Also, picking at scabs is a terrible form of scar treatment and should be avoided at all costs. Scabs are formed as part of the healing process that is going on underneath them at a deeper level of tissue. Pulling a scab off before it is ready totally interferes with the healing and remodeling process, prolonging the time that post-inflammatory changes will be visible and increasing the risk that serious scar treatment will be needed later on.

Rule #2: Use professional anti aging skin care products and always assure they are as natural, or all natural, as possible.

Do not use any products on your face as part of a good acne skin care regimen that includes any oil or petroleum-based products. Wash your face and do not scrub it with a rag, loofah, or anything other than your bare hands and always, always wash your makeup off at night and use an anti aging skin care cream lotion at night with acne-fighting properties.

Rule #3: Avoid the sun - period! Especially avoid it if you have adult acne or a flare-up of acne.

The direct rays of the sun will totally worsen adult acne or acne flare-ups and, under any condition, getting sunburned may lead to permanent irrevocable scarring. The best advice for effective scar treatment is to wear a hat or covering that keeps the direct sunlight off the face.

Rule #4: Use anti aging skin care cream lotions when outbreaks occur.

Generally over-the-counter all natural products, which include corticosteroids, alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, or certain antihistamine creams are effective. Scar treatment starts by gently and effectively eliminating pimples, zits, and blemishes without poking, prodding, or squeezing. Give the anti aging skin care cream lotions time to do their job without being overly impatient and causing a scar that may stay for life.

Skin Care For Better Home Body Detox

By John Khu

There are many ways that we can tell that we might be in sore need of a detoxification. When you feel tired, mentally foggy all the time, snappish and irritable, and simply uninterested in anything that you might have to do, you'll find that there might be more at work than simply feeling a little bit listless. When your body has become too laden with toxins to function at its best, you'll find that there are several body detox tips that you can use. Throughout our day to day lives, we will end up putting toxins our body, and so it makes sense that we should make it regular efforts to get them out again. Believe it or not, good skin care is one of the most important aspects of making sure that your body does not carry too many toxins, so take a look to find out how taking care of your skin can be an instrumental part of the whole body detox.

When you think about it, it makes sense. Our skin is our first line of defense against the various toxins that enter our bodies, and it make sense that our skin would retain some of the effects of these toxins and require attention during a total body detox. Our pores can become clogged up with oils that still hold toxins, dead skin sells that can become infected and so much more. Because of this, it is important that we keep our skin as healthy as possible, and when you do that, you'll find that a dry skin rub can be an enormous help when you are considering your best body detox options.

When doing a dry skin rub during a whole body detox, all you need to to do is get a long handled bristle brush that will allow you to brush your entire body. Start with your feet and move up your body, and when you get to your chest, brush towards the heart. Cover every inch of your body in this fun natural body detox act, and make sure that it lasts at least ten minutes. This can help clear up your skin as well as improve your circulation, making it a great addition to your body detox program.

When you are looking towards better skin care, make sure that you break a sweat! Sweat will carry toxins out of your body very quickly and efficiently, but due to the fact that many people have sedentary lifestyle, wear synthetic clothes that do not let them sweat, or wear too many lotions that actually block the pores, sweat can be made less effective than it should be. Take some time to exercise to get rid of toxins and take a hot shower afterwards; remember that a good body detox system is one that can make you feel quite good.

One of the most enjoyable ways to detox and to take care of your skin is to do a skin rub. After you have finished brushing your skin, take some time to vigorously rub your body with a pre-made mixture of castor oil and olive oil. This is a great way to make sure that your skin come clean and is wonderfully moisturized while doing so. This is a great body detox tip that shows that you can have quite a bit of luxury in your day!

Don't let a good body detox system take a back seat; look around for a way to make it a part of your life through good skin care!

John Khu is a health enthusiast and author of a new eBook titled "Body Detox Tips". He is devoted to educate others on the benefit of body detoxification. He is also the owner of the website called http://www.bodydetoxtips.com which provides complete and up-to-date information.

Understanding the Different Types of Acne

By Pat Dee

Acne is a problem that people across the world are dealing with. In fact, millions of people have some type of acne today. Although many people seem to believe that acne is a problem that only affects teenagers, this is not true. About half of adult women are affected by acne at some point in time and about 25% of men are affected at some point in time during their adult life as well. Acne comes with different severities, depending on the person.

Everyone is affected by acne in a different way, and many people deal with depression and insecurities as well. Basically, acne is defined as the appearance of pimples, blackheads, or pustules that occur on the face, chest, back, or just about any place on the body. There are many different types of acne out there, so let's take a look at some of the common types of acne that people deal with.

Whiteheads Whiteheads are a type of acne that is caused by pores that are totally blocked. They appear to be white on the outside because the bacteria that are inside of the pore is actually taking the sebum and turning it into a fatty acid. Many times people try to pop these types of acne; however, this can be problematic, since it can spread the bacteria around, causing more acne to form.

Blackheads Another type of acne is blackheads. Blackheads are caused by pores that are only partially blocked. While many people seem to think that the black appearance of this acne is from dirt, it is actually pigment that comes from the skin cells that are dead that make them appear this way.

Nodules Nodules are a more severe type of acne and they usually appear as very large bumps that are hard and underneath the surface of the skin.

Papules Papules are spots or bumps that are tender, small, and often red. They are pretty much the precursor to full blown pimples.

Pustules The pustules are much like the papules, but they are a bit larger. They are red and usually they are inflamed and filled with pus. This is what is known as a pimple and they can be quite painful as well.

Cysts This is the worst type of acne that you can have. They are quite similar to the nodules. However, often they are a bit bigger and the infection and inflammation can go very deep into the skin. This is a very painful type of acne that can really be scarring as well.

Acne Rosacea A skin problem that is very close to acne is acne rosacea, although it is not actually the same thing as regular acne is. However, it often does display some similar characteristics. It comes with pustules, oily skin, and other traits of acne vulgaris, but there are other problems as well. People with rosacea suffer from redness and flushing of the skin as well.

Acne and Hormones Linked?

By John Russell

Is there anything worse than the day before a big event, a huge pimple or an outbreak of actual acne occurs? This is bad enough as a teenager but as women get older the expectation is that pimples and acne disappear. In fact, evidence is compelling that acne and hormones are linked and acne skin care needs to carry on through the adult life.

Adult acne is often suggested as one of the most annoying problems aging women experience and certainly adult acne is one of the most significant facial skin care issues - on top of all of the antiaging issues that occur.

While teenagers and young adults make up the bulk of acne sufferers, acne is also evident in adult women. Adult onstage acne, particularly in women, is almost always related to hormonal imbalances. There are even documented cases of acne in babies, which is caused by the transfer of maternal hormones to the baby through the placenta, which stimulates the secretion of oil in the baby's skin.

Fluctuating levels of androgens, particularly DHEAS and testosterone, typically cause the appearance of adult acne in women. When the levels of these hormones become high, secretion by the skin glands also increases. In its simplest form this, in turn, is what actually encourages the formation of acne.

Additionally, as far as women are concerned, acne that is induced by hormonal activity is most often linked to the menstrual cycle when levels of estrogens and androgens are at their highest. Increased levels of progesterone following ovulation result in increased secretion from the skin glands, making the skin greasy, clogging pores, and supporting the development of acne. Acne may continue to cause trouble even after menopause because even though estrogen levels may have begun to recede, testosterone levels rise.

There are a few signposts that indicate whether acne is the result of hormonal changes. Acne that breaks out for the first time in adulthood is a major indicator. If a women has irregular menstrual cycles, that's another sign. Other indicators include a greasy appearance to the face, which is a result of excessive secretion from the skin glands and the growth of hair in peculiar body parts, which is associated with increased levels of androgens. If the level of androgens in the blood is high, it is likely that acne is caused by hormonal imbalances. It has become clear to medical science that there is a distinct link between hormonal activity and the introduction of acne.

More and more evidence indicates acne and hormones are linked and acne skin care, and particularly for adult acne, has never been more important.

How To Get Rid Of Acne Fast With A Healthy Diet And Lifestyle

By Casey Gentles

Diet plays a prominent role in the condition of the skin and its related structures such as the nails and hair. Th skin possesses three physical characteristics:

1. The Skin Is Sensitive To Nutritional Deficiencies:

The skin cells are being replaced constantly. Therefore they need a constant supply of nutrients for the production of new cells. This makes the skin particularly sensitive to nutritional deficiencies, especially proteins, essential fatty acids, vitamin A and C, iron and zinc.

2. Eliminatory Organ:

The skin is referred to as "the third kidney" since it is actively involved in the body's purifying process. Certain amounts of of the toxins that circulate within the blood are eliminated through the skin. However the eliminatory capability of the skin can be overtaxed when there is an increased concentration of toxins because of:

- Kidney failure of liver failure
- Constipation
- A diet based on meat products

Under these conditions the skin suffers internal poisoning and reacts with various pathological manifestations, such as eczema, dermatoses and a variety of eruptions.

3. Source Of Allergic Reactions

Many food-based allergic reactions are manifested through the skin.

Acne is defined as the hypertrophy and infection of the skin's sebaceous glands. These glands produce sebum, an oil that protects the skin. When the follicles of these glands are obstructed, which may result from a variety of causes, the sebum cannot flow properly. The glands become infected and inflamed, producing eruptions typical of acne.

Causes Of Acne

This disease manifest itself most frequently during adolescence, however even adults up to age 40 can have acne. These are its causal factors:

a) Genetics

b) Emotional Stress

c) Hormones- particularly the androgens responsible for masculinization.

d) A diet poor in fruits, nuts, grains, legumes, vegetables and rich in refined products, animal fats and additives. Typical diet based on hamburgers, French fries or ice-cream or sweats is an example of a diet that promotes acne.

To get rid of acne fast, one most reduce the intake of sugars, refined baked goods, saturated fats, milk, chocolate and salty foods. On the other hand one should increase the intake of vegetables, fruits , whole grain soy and foods that contain Vitamin E.

A healthy diet does more for the health and beauty of the skin than any external applications or cosmetic treatments.

Casey Gentles is a naturalist and runs and operates the website http://www.cure-acne-fast.com. He believes that a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle can help anyone to get rid of acne fast and enjoy a clear and beautiful skin regardless of how severe the acne condition might be.

Herbal Body Wraps - look good and detoxify your body in the privacy of your home

By Ronald Godlewski

If you smoke, drink, are prone to recreational drugs, drink coffee, or participate in any other recreational or hobby activities that lead to toxins in the body. These body wraps can be sold in boutiques and administered in spas, and they are a great way to lose weight and remove nasty toxins from the body that you never thought you would be able to flush out. Even salt and sugar can work against the fluid processes of the body and need detoxification. Everyday life can be a bit of a poison if you really think about it; even the air that you breathe can bring contaminants into your body that you want out.

You may not think that you care much about detoxifying your body. Salt and sugar are going to be present in the body anyway, right? That is the truth, but the difference is that you can do something about it. Salt and sugar can prevent you from losing weight the way that you want to by causing you to retain water, and body wraps can extract those nasties from your system and make things run more efficiently.

Toxins prevent the body from being able to work as efficiently as it normally would because valuable energy is spent processing and expelling salt, sugar, caffeine, or other toxins from the body. When your energy is being spent on processing these unnecessary elements in the body it cannot properly focus on metabolizing your food properly. This is one thing that people fail to realize, and one reason why weight loss can be so easily spurred with the use of detoxifying body wraps.

Where Can I Get a Good Body Wrap?

If you really want to get a good body wrap that will have some good results, you should check out one of the local day spas in your community. A good detoxifying body wrap in one of your local spas should cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 to $200 or more, depending on the spa that you are checking out. In most cases, any service at a day spa entitles you to a full day using their facilities and that is why the use of a day spa is so recommended over ordering them and using them at home. Not only will they be administered more correctly if you go to a spa, but ordering them costs around the same price and you don't get the rest of the relaxation benefits that the other spa services entail.

How Often is a Detoxifying Body Wrap Needed?

Depending on how many toxins you feel that you have in your body and your need to cleanse, detoxifying body wraps can be a one shot deal or something that you do on a regular basis. IT is very enjoyable and leads to better looks for many men and women, as efficiently processed toxins and better working bodily processes leads to clearer skin, brighter eyes, more brilliant smiles, healthier hair, and just overall better looks.

Some people are known to get as many as two to three detoxifying body wrap treatments in a day. Other people go as frequently as two to three times per week to get the detoxification they need, but a cleansing of lifestyle choices is also encouraged for those who attend cleansing body wraps that frequently. Body wraps are not a good substitute for a healthier lifestyle and better choices, and it is necessary to keep that in mind at all times.

Buy Detoxifying Body Wraps for Home Use

If you like the convenience of detoxifying body wraps but you are not able to make use of a spa wrap as often as you would like, it may help to coordinate spa style body wraps with home use detoxifying wraps. These are the kind that you have to administer on yourself and are good for people who are least somewhat familiar with how the detoxifying spa body wraps work. They can be done in the convenience of your home at those times when you need something a bit more refreshing than usual.

Detoxifying wraps are one of those things that not everybody will be able to get into, but many will. Those who are exploring holistic options for curing sickness and strengthening the immune system will love what these wraps bring to their health, and make people feel so much better and even thinner after just one use.

Ronald Godlewski has published several dozen articles on health, wellness, and the value of nutrition in disease prevention. Visit http://www.pillfreesupplements.com/bodywraps.php for more information on how to detoxify your body using herbal wraps at home.

Thing of beauty is joy forever

By Validmir Burylin

"Thing of beauty is joy forever" this famous quote which is generally said about beauty, the beauty which imparts great pleasure and joy. It is far away from all wordy affairs. It is that beauty which gives immense happiness which crosses all the boundaries of world. Beauty is term which is generally associated with woman. It is a term which had wide implications.

Beauty can be categorized as external and internal beauty. The external beauty is one which is associated with senses. It is the sensual beauty. Beautiful object after seeing appeals to our senses, and when that beauty touches our soul is internal beauty. It is that beauty which magnifies and glorifies our soul. It is in true sense the "beauty of soul". Internal beauty is the power to reveal the hidden structure of the external world. As it is rightly said "The greatest treasure are those seen individuals to the eye but found by the heart". This is true beauty. It is the beauty attached with almighty. No object in this world can be termed as beautiful unless it is felt internally. External beauty can impress us for a particular time period, but it is internal beaty which engulfs the soul and leaves an everlasting impression. It is that beauty which world remembers through years.

It is past memories which are beautiful which recollects in tranquility. As the "most beautiful things can be seen or even touched they can be felt by heart." External beauty is one which tends to decay with passage of time. It is mortal. As it is rightly said: beautiful woman is one whose heart is filled with virtue and love. It is internal beauty which is immortal. It does not fade with time, but reaches the height of zenith. But it is sad state of affair that people nowadays gives importance to external appearance. As first impression is the last, but they forget that beyond that last beauty exists the true beauty.

Beauty is not in the face it is a light in the heart. People should not forget that this external beauty can give pleasure only for short time. It will not be everlasting. Beauty is important, as no man tend to live a life of toad. But if there is ugliness then there will be virtue attached to it. If man posses power of five senses, then he has capabilities also to look through those ugliness and find true internal beauty. So it is not external or internal beauty but it is finding true beauty which ignoble the soul, and surpasses all age or centuries.

Skin Care Diet - Enemies of Good Skin

By Ricky Hussey

Stress

You've had a bad week - or maybe a bad month. You've been working overtime, your child is going through a difficult phase, your boyfriend's eyes have started wandering, your boss seems to hate you, and you have insomnia. In other words, nothing in your life is going smoothly and you are feeling more stressed than ever. Chances are a few obvious pimples have sprung up since your life got so hectic. How do I know that? What do you think my face does when I'm feeling frazzled?

The reason for a spotty complexion is simple: When the body is under stress, it releases adrenal hormones, which are known generally as "stress hormones." These hormones generate a number of changes in skin, including breakouts, oily patches, dry patches sallowness, dark circles under the eyes, and rashes. Obviously, you can't avoid all forms of stress, but you can learn how to deal with them. Deep breathing, visualization, a professional or at-home massage, or even a spa-night at home can help relieve some of the tension.

Exercise boosts circulation, which in turn delivers oxygen-rich blood to the skin's surface. The short-term result is a beautiful glow. According to some skin-care experts, the long-term benefit of exercise is improved skin elasticity and more efftcient new cell growth.

Rough treatment

As resilient as skin is, it also has a delicate side. Aggressive handling can make skin appear worn, abused, and just plain old. What qualifies as rough treatment? Picking pimples, which can cause scars; using overly hot water, which can break small capillaries and make skin dry; tugging at skin, which can break down collagen and elastin fibers and lead to slackness; and using harsh skin-care products, which can cause sensitivities and redness.

Skin and your diet

Severe diets that skimp on calories and on one or more nutrients are detrimental to your skin, and so are eating habits that include plenty of complexion-spoiling fast food. Here's a rundown of common nutrient deficiencies and how they affect your complexion:

A lack of protein can lead to a dull, dry complexion and poor wound-healing.

A shortage of iron can result in a pale complexion.

A lack of vitamin A can produce dry skin or unexplained breakouts.

A deficiency in vitamin B Complex can result in cracks at the corners of the mouth, unexplained breakouts, impaired wound-healing, and pallor.

A lack of vitamin C can cause poor wound-healing, dullness, and easy bruising.

A shortage of vitamin E can lead to poor wound-healing and dry skin.

A lack of vitamin K can result in weak, broken, or distended facial capillaries.

Brushing - Using Combs and Picks

By Ricky Hussey

Combs and picks aren't necessary for everyone: some people use them, others simply rake gently through hair with their fingers. If you are a comb or pick user, look for a model with rounded, widely spaced teeth - these are gentler on hair than pointytipped, fine-toothed combs. Furthermore, make sure each individual tooth is smooth, without cracks or burs that can catch hair and rip away strands' cuticle layer. Hard rubber, hard silicone, and polished wood are the most hair-friendly materials

Brushing techniques There are two reasons to brush your hair. The most obvious one is grooming - your coif looks messy, so you brush it into submission. For this type of brushing, work gently and do as little as possible: too much brushing can upset your style: The other reason for brushing is sclap and hair health too much brushing can upset your style. The other reason for brushing is scalp and hair health. Now I realize that a bit of controversy surrounds this type of hair brushing. Some people believe the less you brush your hair, the healthier it will be; other folks claim that faithful brushing keeps the hair and scalp healthy by clearing away debris from the scalp and strands, massaging the scalp, and distrbuting moisturizing sebum through hair.

Regular brushing gives hair a natural shine and is said to create locks that are healthier, more manageable, and easier to style.

My own opinion is what I call "moderately pro-brushing." Through experience I've found a thorough brushing not only makes my hair look prettier, it dissuades oil from pooling around my roots and lifts dry flaky skin cells off my scalp. The best time to give your hair a thorough brushing is right before you hit the shower. I'll admit this is a bit arbitrary so if you want to give yourself a thorough brushing in the middle of the day or before going out at night, go ahead. However, be aware that intense brushing loosens dead scalp flakes, which gives your hair a "dandruffy" look. Also, if you have wavy or curly hair, an in-depth brushing can create an electric, high-frizz finish. (Now you see why I like to hit the shower after brushing!)
Handy hints

You've been brushing your hair for years - do you really need someone to tell you how to do it? Maybe not, but I'm nonetheless going to tell you what I've picked up from several dozen hairdressers. Before you whip out the brush, take a wide-tooth comb or use your fingers and gently go through the ends of your hair to remove tangles, knots, snarls, and so on. Bend over at the waist. Start at one ear and, working around the neckline, brush in long strokes from scalp to tip.

I do not believe in giving tresses 100 strokes a day - after all, too much of any good thing can, with time, create damage. Each section needs only two or three "rake-throughs" before you move on.

After you've finished working the neckline, remain bent over and separate your hair from nape to crown as if you were creating two ponytails. Starting at the nape and working toward the crown, brush strands on one side of the horizontal part. Repeat with the hair on the other side of the part.

Only dry hair should be brushed. Damp or wet hair is weak and vulnerable to breaking. If you must detangle wet hair, do it in the shower while you have conditioner in your hair. Work gently and use a wide-tooth comb or hair pick.

Stand up. Brush hair around the hairline by starting at one ear, moving toward the opposite ear, and directing hair back off the face. When you've finished, part hair in the center. Brush the hair on one side of the part. Repeat on the other side. Note: Those of you with curls or very thick hair may have to create a few more sections to ensure that every part of your scalp and hair gets brushed.

Those of us with longer hair, fragile hair, or hair that we're trying to grow must be more mindful of how we handle our strands.

Is Mineral Make Up Purer than Normal Products?

By Bob Cotto

Mineral make up came about in the mid 1970's and is now a booming market of eye shadows, blushes and foundations. The finely ground hypoallergenic ingredients are from minerals which occur naturally and have no chemicals, preservatives or dyes.

Supporters of this type of make up believe it is purer than normal products, which contain perfumes and chemicals and its natural products create no allergies. Cynics argue that the ingredients are present in conventional make up and no particular benefits (health wise) can be found in this type of make up.

Contradictory information exists, so people will have to decide for themselves what to believe. Trial packs are available online to test at home, and contain most types of blushes, foundations and eye shadows.

Make up is used to cover unattractive inconsistencies and blemishes and to enhance natural beauty. All make up will differ in appearance depending on the light it is exposed (sunlight, regular or fluorescent lighting).

Experts recommend mineral make up to be applied with expensive synthetic brushes (not animal hair). They don't shed hairs or attract bacteria easily. Test skin appearance in differing types of light by applying only one layer of make up. Setting powders can also change how foundations appear.

For mineral make up application the skin should not be oily and must have moisture, so its best that your face is freshly washed - use gentle cleansers and lightly moisturize, allowing a minimum of 15 minutes for the moisturizer to penetrate the skin, before applying make up.

Seasons are important when choosing colors for blushes and foundations. Slightly darker foundations can be used for summer, which matches your tan, with lighter colors of blush, eye shadow and lipstick. Less make up is required in summer as it can also clog pores and the skin has slightly more oil - you might also be sweating outdoors. Winter foundations should be adjusted to take into consideration the absence of a tan, however, colors for lips, eyes and cheeks could be warmer and darker.

Naturally oily skins should require mineral powder and not a liquid mineral foundation. Mica is used to make the skin look shinier and if oily skin is a problem, then avoid a foundation that includes it.

Cynics say that mineral make up isn't suitable for women with strong ethnic backgrounds because it makes them look green or yellow - they can only establish this by testing it. Online trial size kits cost $10.00 or less and companies are keen to assist people because satisfied customers will return for more purchases.

How Permanent Is Permanent Hair Removal?

By Mia Hepburn

What does permanent mean? In the realm of hair it means that those follicles will not grow back. Ever. It means a life free of body hair. How does this apply to laser treatments, what kind of results do they offer? The simple answer is prettygood, lasers does offer fantastic results. However, just how great these results are is based on a person to person basis. The problem arises with the fact that that laser clinics, medical spas, plastic surgeons, and dermatologist are often fast and loose with the term "permanent hair removal."

Currently the FDA only allows for electrolysis to be marketed under that definition. That's not to say Laser Hair Removal is not FDA approved, it is, but it's approved for permanent hair reduction. Laser technology faces a much stiffer review process than electrolysis did, and lasers could very well be even more efficient.

The Difference Between Hair Removal and Hair Reduction

Permanent hair removal refers to the fact that hair will not grow back, you will be as bare today as the day you were born, whereas hair reduction allows for the chance of regrowth. Reduction says that it's long lasting, there's a possibility for permanency, but it allows for small chance that it's not. This does not mean that you should expect hair regrowth after laser treatments, most clients do not have any sort of regrowth. Some people experience results that can last a lifetime, while other patients the results may only be significant for 3 or 5 years.

Laser Hair Removal provides reduction of up to 90% of hair growth. You may not be able to remove all hairs with laser technology, but you can expect to loose the vast majority of it. Laser Hair Removal can't claim permanency without acknowledging that 10% chance. This is why the FDA would prefer the term permanent hair reduction over hair removal. And let's not forget that 90% hair loss is still vastly superior over waxing or tweezing, which offers a zero percent chance of permanent hair reduction.

Laser Technology vs. Electrolysis

Electrolysis accomplishes the removal of hair by individually electrocuting each hair, follicle by follicle. It's an effective process for getting rid of hair, but an extremely time consuming one as well. Expect a treatment to last 2 to 3 hours! While an effective method for small areas like the upper lip, electrolysis can become problematic for larger areas like the back or chest. And while the technology of electrolysis is long lasting in theory, it doesn't account for human error. Imagine having to pluck out all your leg hairs individually, after hours of plucking there's no way you could keep up a high level of focus. Laser epilation offers efficiency and control anywhere on the body: from the back to the face to the bikini line.

While, technically laser treatments may not be deemed permanent hair removal, it's as long lasting as hair removal can be. Nothing on the market today offers better results than Laser Hair Removal.

Check out what the FDA has to say about Laser Hair Removal and permanent hair reduction.

Makeup - Mineral Makeup Versus Conventional Makeup

By David Yu

The essential components of all makeup would remain the same irregardless of the type of makeup or brand that you use. The basic difference lies in the fact that each type of makeup uses different formula with varying amounts of additives. In addition, makeup brands would even differ in the type of additives that they use. These include fragrances, binders, dyes and pigments and even preservatives. You may think that the additive percentage within makeup is very small, so how could it make such a big difference among the brands of makeup?

The intensity of the makeup would be dependent upon the amount of pigment used to achieve the desired color or tone of the makeup; the amount of binder used would indicate how solid your makeup is to your touch, how severe it feels on your skin, and how natural in looks in the final application; the amount of preservative incorporated would determine the shelf life of your makeup and its consistency from batch to batch.

So you may have been told time and time again that makeup is makeup, but not all makeup are equal. Mineral makeup, for one, is a makeup like no other. It is one of the purest forms of makeup available; it does not contain many of the common additives that regular makeup may contain, all of which are known to irritate the more sensitive or acne prone skin types.

Mineral makeup instead contains simply what makes the makeup a makeup - minerals such as mica, zinc oxide and titanium oxide. Its pigmentation and coloration are naturally obtained from the earth, so that they do not add to the problem of skin irritations. In addition, mineral makeup is non-comedongenic. This means that it will not clog the pores of the skin. The possibilities of skin irritation and acne outbreaks are therefore greatly reduced. Some people even claim that the metal oxides that make up the mineral makeup (titanium and zinc) have both a soothing effect on the skin in and anti-inflammatory properties.

But despite all of these known facts and assumptions about mineral makeup, one thing and one thing only is responsible for its extreme growth over the last few years - mineral makeup is the alternative to other more classic compact makeup that women have been accustomed to for years. It promises to offer a more comprehensive coverage, and it promises to stay on for hours after its application. Mineral makeup can replace the need for a separate foundation, powder and even concealer which were all former necessities with any other makeup line. Instead a single shade of mineral makeup now performs all three jobs seamlessly and effortlessly. Most importantly, it does this naturally so that at no time does the wearer ever feel like she has a mask on!

Choosing Hairstyles To Suit Your Hair Texture, Hair Type and Face Shape

By Jo Rushworth

Before deciding on a hairstyle you should take into consideration your hair texture and hair type and opt for a style you can manage easily. You should also consider whether a particular hairstyle will suit your face shape.

Fine Hair - There are various ways in which you can add body and volume to fine hair. These include correct cutting and shaping techniques, chemical wave or root lift applications. Choose styles with minimum graduation such as bob cuts and wedges. Layers will create an illusion of thickness. Keep hair short to shoulder length.

Coarse Hair - To help disguise an overall heavy look, cut is very important. Look for hairstyles that lessen the bulk and weight that coarse hair produces. Layer cuts or razor cuts will thin out the thickness of your hair, and in the process, give a sleeker finish.

Straight Hair - Simple, geometric haircuts like bobs are perfect for straight hair of any texture. If you prefer your hair long, tapered layers along the face will soften hard lines. For extra volume, add layers from the last three inches to the ends.

Curly Hair - Possibly the most versatile of all. You can use straightening products or let it go soft and curly on its own. Layered hair cuts reduce bulk and the curls are easier to maintain. If you wear your hair long, the curls tend to be slightly looser with the weight of your hair. Razor-cuts are not advised for hair that tends to be frizzy.

Your best cut is determined by your face, so strive for a hairstyle that works with your particular face shape. Using this strategy will help create a balance that can change the appearance of a face shape and also emphasize your best features.

Here are some guidelines:

Square Face - Choose a hairstyle that will create softness and detract from a square jaw line such as long layers with soft waves, curls or choppy ends. You can also get away with short, spiky cuts and long, sleek styles with layers that start at the jawline and continue downward. A centre parting or chin length bobs and square bangs (fringes) on the forehead will accentuate a square face, so avoid those geometric lines.

Round Face - Try cuts that fall just below the chin. Soft, graduated layers are ideal because they make your face appear slimmer and remove volume from the sides. Consider wispy and tapered ends. These de-emphasize the roundness of your face. Add some height to the top of the head to make your face look longer.

Long Face - Choose a style with layers or go for a chin length bob with a fringe which will create horizontal lines. Scrunch dried or curly bobs balance a long face. Brow-skimming bangs are also ideal because they create the illusion of width. Avoid short cuts or styles that add height on top.

Heart shaped Face - Opt for long sideswept bangs and a length that frames the jaw line. Keep top layers soft and long. Avoid short, blunt-cut bangs and harsh, choppy layers.

Oval Face - With this face shape, you have the advantage of being able to pull off any look. However, much depends on the quality of hair; thin, wavy, straight etc. Avoid short layers that add height on top of your head. This will make your face appear long. If your hair is thick or curly, avoid a blunt cut.

Preparing For Collagen Injections And Treatments

By Dr. Jim Greene

Undergoing facial rejuvenation treatments such as collagen injections are individualized issues. Expectations and hopes are important to be discussed with a board-certified, well-experienced plastic surgeon that specializes in the field of non-surgical and surgical facial treatments and procedures.

Before you undergo injection treatments, your plastic surgeon will conduct initial consultation and evaluate your face. Aside from the evaluation that will be done to your skin, muscles and underlying bone structure, goals and desired results of the surgery will be discussed as well. After the consultation and the evaluation process, your plastic surgeon will guide you on what type of treatments to choose that will perfectly suit the anatomy of your body, your concerns, lifestyle and desired results.

During the evaluation process, your doctor will ask about your medical background. Information associated with your medical history is very important if you are planning to have collagen injection treatments. You will be ask if you are allergic to certain drugs and skin conditions that may result to later problems such as non-healed sores due to injuries and active skin infections.

In general, pregnant women are not allowed to undergo injection treatments. It is also off limits to people suffering from autoimmune diseases and individuals allergic to bovine-derived products. Patients allergic to the anesthetic agent known as lidocain which is contained with the liquid-base material are not allowed to undergo such treatments as well.

Patients are always advised to learn about the risks and contraindications of it and its uses. For more information you can always ask your doctor and address all inquires concerning injection treatments.

How you will pay for your treatments should also be prepared and properly thought of in advance. Today you can choose from wide arrays of easy payment selection that will usually be offered to you by your surgeon or your patronized institution. You can only expect your insurance to pay for your treatment if the procedure is performed to correct skin indention or scars caused by injuries or accidents. To make sure if your treatment will be covered by your insurance, it is best to inquire and ask because most insurance doesn't usually pay for cosmetic procedures.

The accommodation where your collagen treatment will be performed should be established beforehand. This will enable you to prepare for the events that will take place after the procedure. Collagen injections are non-surgical treatments usually administered by surgeons in their office based facilities. However, in cases where your collagen injections are associated with your browlift, facelift and necklift procedures where you will be hospitalized for a few days, it is better to have them done in the hospital.

Is Talc Safe Enough For Use In Natural Skin Care Products?

By Christine Harrell

As natural skin care products go mainstream, many people are becoming more educated about the ingredients they are putting on their skin. People are concerned over parabens, phthalates, synthetic colors and talc just to name a few. Even though talc has been controversial in the past, the cosmetic-grade talc used in many natural skin care products is 100% safe.

Skin is the largest organ in the body. As such, many product ingredients used on the skin like lotions, shampoos and cosmetics are absorbed directly into the bloodstream. Because the US Government does not mandate safety studies on cosmetics, these products often contain ingredients that are directly linked to cancer, reproductive disorders and other ailments.

Concern over talc safety originated due to its association with asbestos, which can occur in some talc deposits. Low-grade talc, used in the past by some companies, was contaminated by asbestos, which is a known carcinogen. Since 1972, however, government mandated testing and certification has ensured that all cosmetic-grade talc is asbestos free.

In 2007, University of Florida researchers even reported that talcum powder has a new added benefit: the ability to stunt cancer growth by cutting the flow of blood to metastatic lung tumors.

The study, published in the European Respiratory Journal, reveals that talc stimulates healthy cells to produce endostatin, a hormone considered vital to curing metastatic lung cancer. The UF researchers say talc is an exciting new therapeutic agent for a cancer largely considered incurable.

So where does talc come from?

Talc is a mineral, produced by the mining of talc rocks and then processed by crushing, drying and milling. Talc miners have also been shown to have no higher incidence of lung cancer than the general population where the mineral is asbestos free.

The resultant powder, which most of us are familiar with, is a slippery, finely powered mineral that absorbs moisture. It currently has many applications including makeup, baby power and antacids. The natural qualities of talc when used in natural skin care products, gives them stability, texture, skin adhesion, slip and water resistance.

Even though talc has been proven to be a safe ingredient for use in cosmetics and powders, other ingredients still have the potential to cause great harm. Choosing organic or natural skin care products is one way for those concerned with ingredient safety to know exactly what they are putting on their skin.

Many international organic or natural skin care products are held to higher standards than those manufactured in the United States. In 2004, for instance, the European Union banned the use of chemicals that are known or strongly suspected of causing cancer, mutation or birth defects. Choosing a natural skin care company based out side the United States, can help concerned consumers feel better about their skin care regime.

Are Dangerous Nanoparticles Lurking In Your Cosmetics and Sunscreens?

By Christine Harrel

Consumers are surrounded by warnings of the dangers contained in everything from baby shampoo to denture cream. Recently there has been growing concern over nanoparticles in sunscreens and mineral make up. Is there real danger here or is this just another overhyped story?

What Are Nanoparticles?

A nanoparticle is a piece of material so small that its size is measured in nanometers or billionths of a meter. As a comparison, a typical nanoparticle is approximately 10,000 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair.

The size of nanoparticles is their greatest asset and their greatest health risk. The human body is equipped with defenses designed to keep toxic substances out as they come into contact with our skin, lungs, and intestinal tract.

Nanoparticles are so small they can infiltrate the lungs and intestinal walls, giving the toxins free access to the body. There is some evidence that they may be absorbed directly through the skin as well but the results are inconclusive at this point.

Even non-toxic nanoparticles can cause problems. For example they can get into our lungs but are so small they are not easily cleared by normal mechanisms. This causes the lungs to be overburdened and have to work harder to breathe.

Where Are Nanoparticles Found?

Two common sources of nanoparticles today are sunscreens and mineral make up.

Ironically, nanoparticles used in sunscreen came about because of an effort to avoid toxic materials. Reports of the dangerous effects of benzophenone, homosalate and octyl-methoxycinnamate that some sunscreens use caused many consumers to return to the old-school products containing titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.

However, many people didn't like how these sunscreens looked and wanted something transparent. Manufacturers discovered that by dispersing the titanium dioxide as nanoparticles, it went on clear while still providing sun protection.

The use of nanoparticles in mineral make up was also an attempt to improve the appearance of the product. Pulverizing the minerals to nano-size gave the cosmetics a smoother, more glowing appearance. Consumers liked the change but didn't realize there were associated health risks.

How Do You Avoid Nanoparticles?

Numerous research studies have showed the dangerous effects of nanoparticles and there is little doubt that they pose a significant health threat. A movement is underway to have the FDA regulate engineered nanoparticles much more rigorously. Until that time, consumers have to be smart shoppers.

When buying sunscreens that use metal oxides or mineral make up, look for products that don't use nanoparticles or "micronized" particles. "Non-Micronized" particles are larger than nanoparticles so are safer. Titanium dioxide particles can also be coated with stearic acid to further prevent interaction of the mineral with the body.

Stick with mineral make up that uses titanium dioxide in cream form rather than powder form.

This prevents the particles from being absorbed through the skin or becoming airborne and getting into the lungs. If you are concerned about the health risks of nanoparticles, consider using one of the many great choices in natural and organic cosmetics that allow you to look great without risking your health.

Cold Laser Technology - How a Low Level Laser Promotes Healing

By Chris Robertson

When you hear the word, "laser," what do you think of? Maybe the first thing that comes to mind is laser eye surgery, or perhaps you think about laser printers. It could be that laser-guided missiles pop into mind, or maybe you picture a laser pointer or a barcode scanner. What you might not know is that cold laser technology has produced a powerful yet benign instrument that can promote healing and wellness.

How a Cold Laser Works

A low level laser, sometimes known as a soft laser, is often used in cell regeneration. Essentially, the approach in this type of laser therapy comes from an understanding that every cell in the body has a "memory" of sorts. This memory comes from the cells' polarity. Oftentimes, this polarity prevents the body from being able to regenerate or heal itself. When a healing laser is utilized, however, the cells release their charge and, thus, their memory. Once the cells have neutral energy, the cold laser donates energy to help them rejuvenate.

Systems and Conditions that Benefit

Soft laser therapy can help with a variety of conditions. For example, many people find it useful for pain relief - either acute or chronic - as well as for injuries, weight loss, and smoking cessation. Many others use a healing laser for detoxification, and for reversing the effects of adrenaline, which is known to contribute to pain, stress, diabetes, and aging. A cold laser can also be used for nerve regeneration, organ balancing, and lymph activation. Massage therapists and other healing arts practitioners use a cold laser to align the chakras or meridians, helping their clients to reconnect their bodies, minds, and spirits.

Handheld Devices

Soft lasers are available as portable, handheld devices, and some are designed to be used by both laypeople and health professionals. However, not all cold lasers are created equally. The best have 16 laser diodes in the 650nm and 780nm spectra, as well as a digital interface that is programmable. If you're shopping for a healing laser, make sure to buy one through a company that will also provide you with a carrying case, a rechargeable AC adapter, and plug-ins for the pulsar probes. Most important of all, make sure that the company will supply you with a training DVD and manual. They should also offer support and assistance, as well as a full, money-back guarantee. Generally speaking, lasers have a multitude of applications. Everyone from dentists to defense contractors to engravers use them. Thanks to cold laser technology, though, more people than ever before can benefit from the healing light and cellular rejuvenation that laser therapy provides.

Skin Care Should Start Early to Avoid Severe Problems

By Gloria Mactaggart

Skin problems often begin with untreated dry skin conditions. Although dry skin is fairly common, a lot of people don’t do anything about it until the skin starts flaking, cracking or catching on their clothing. What most people don’t realize is that their skin has probably been dry for some time before those symptoms appear. In fact, if your skin feels just slightly rough, your problems have already started. Should you do something about it in these early stages? Absolutely: doing something now could prevent severe problems, including rashes, eczema and even wrinkles. Thousands of doctors now recommend a shielding lotion to prevent and treat dry skin and other skin problems, but there are a few natural remedies you should also include in your skin care treatment routine.

Why is it important to take action against dry skin early? The outer layer of the skin is composed of oils, fats and dead skin cells. These form a protective layer that locks in natural moisture and prevents bacteria, chemicals and other toxins from being absorbed into the body. Even mildly rough skin has tiny invisible cracks in it and has already lost some of that protective layer.

This opens the door to severe skin problems far worse than a little roughness, and to the development of both skin disease and general illness.

What can you do about it? In addition to using a shielding lotion, a good shielding lotion bonds with the outer layer of the skin to form a new protective layer that locks in moisture and keeps out chemicals, there are a few simple skin care and life style changes that can help prevent the severe problems you’re trying to avoid.

* Stop eating sugar, processed foods and junk foods. The body was not designed to survive on sugar, chemicals and food that came out of a box. Eat a well balanced diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and fish. Do your best to buy organic so you don’t get loaded up with chemicals at every meal.

* Drink several glasses of water every day filtered, clean drinking water.

* Avoid cigarettes, caffeine and alcohol. They’re all toxic, and cigarette smoke is known to cause dry skin and wrinkles.

* Exercise at least 20 minutes three times a week to ensure nutrients are circulated throughout the body, and into the skin. Exercise is vital to any skin care treatment program.

* Take stock of the skin care products in your bathroom. Do they contain long lists of chemicals? If so, you might want to get rid of them and try some of the old fashioned remedies used by your grandmother. Coconut oil, palm oil and other oils with the correct pH balance are great cleansers and rose water is a perfect dry skin toner. Use witch hazel for oily skin. Also, instead of chemicals masques and peels make your own with mild, natural skin care ingredients, and replace thick, greasy skin creams and moisturizers with a shielding lotion.

Above all, be gentle. Once you’ve disturbed the skin’s natural structure and function, you’ve opened the door to everything you’re trying to prevent.

Catching dry skin in the early stages is faster, easier and more effective than trying to treat severe skin conditions. Start your new healthy natural skin care treatment lifestyle today, and you’ll be rewarded with healthy skin for years to come – and don’t forget the shielding lotion.

Shaving Hair Tips

By Louise Forrest

You probably have heard the urban legend about how shaving off the hair would make it grow more beautifully eventually. Perhaps, you have proven that supposed myth or you may know someone who could attest to the truthfulness of that assertion. You may not entirely know it but it has been proven that there is no real basis to that belief. In fact, many experts and researchers are contradicting that assertion.

According to most cosmetic dermatologists, hair looks thicker when they start to grow from being shaven because they are cut straight across. That way, the hair shaft’s thicker portion is exposed. That way, because the thicker part of the hair is more exposed, it tends to thin out as it grows longer. Thus, you would feel as if your sprouting hair is truly made softer than ever.

Another myth about shaven hair is the belief that hair tends to grow darker after shaving. Experts explain that when your hair has been completely shaven off and it starts to sprout again, the hair will tend to look like little dots that would contrast against the normal skin color. This, the hair would create somehow an optical illusion as if it is growing darker. As the hair becomes longer, it would be evident that the color has not really changed at all.

However, experts and cosmetic dermatologists are not advising against hair shaving. The activity has been a wide practice across majority of all races and civilizations worldwide. As a matter of fact, shaving hair is currently considered among the boldest moves any fashionable individual would do for the sake of vanity. It would therefore be helpful if you would be advised to take the following simple guidelines when shaving off your hair.

Make sure to use a sharp razor to shave off hair. When shaving body hair, especially in the leg, shave off the hair in the growth direction, not against it. While it has always been believed that shaving against natural hair pattern is more effective, there is a wide misconception as hair when shaven off that way could become a little in grown. For people with curly body hair, normal shaving is not advisable. Instead, a laser hair removal would be the best. Moreover, laser hair removal operations are also more advisable on people who have light skin complemented by dark hair.

Shaving after a shower or a warm bath would be most advisable as warm water naturally softens the hair so that when it grows back, it would come easier and would feel and look softer and more beautiful. To condition the hair before shaving, using a shaving cream as lubricant and hair softener would be most advisable. When using such products prior to shaving, make sure to leave the product on the hair to be shaven for a few minutes before the razor is finally tasked to complete its duty.

What are aftershaves for? Such shaving products actually moisturize the hair and the skin. During shaving, you are not only cutting hair; you are also stripping off the outermost skin layer of natural oil. Thus, it would help a lot if an appropriate moisturizer would be applied after the activity.

For razor bumps, it would be advisable if you would apply cortisone cream after the shaving activity. Such bumps are produced by the trauma created to the skin when shaving. Cortisone has features that help heal the skin around the shaven areas.
